Viridian Glass New Premises

The new purpose built premises for Viridian Glass was built on a greenfield site located on Railway Road in Palmerston North. This build was another successful partnership between Colspec and a local developer with whom we've worked with on a number of projects in the last 5 years.

Construction started in May 2015 and the building was complete, ready for tenants to move in only 15 weeks later. This was an extremely tight programme, but with effective management and buy in from our staff and subcontractors on site, the project was completed on time without sacrificing quality.

The structure is split into two distinct sections with function and form being the driving force behind the final look. At the rear is a 650m2 warehouse, which consists of an in situ concrete floor, precast panels, lightweight steel structure, metal roofing/cladding and a gantry crane. The front is a 100m2 office that is wrapped in glass, which is undoubtedly the feature of the building and highlights the tenants main business.

All parties were really pleased with the outcome of the finished product, which is a credit to all involved.

“We used Colspec Construction on two recent projects to design and build our regional warehouse/retail showroom spaces in Palmerston North and Hamilton.

We have been very pleased with the completed product that has been designed and built to a high standard providing us with a functional, future proofed solution.

Throughout the process Shane, Hamish and the team were excellent to deal with keeping us briefed on developments and issues as they arose, and always being solution orientated. They are a well organised and professional team.

Colspec will be the first construction company we think of when planning our next project.”
