PN Airport Stage 1 Terminal Upgrade

This project was Stage 1 of 2 that Colspec completed at the Palmerston North Airport. Comprising the of building two identical glazed entry lobbies that service the arrivals and departure traffic from the airport. Building elements consisted of in situ concrete floor, rough cast precast columns, structural steel portals, seismic aluminium joinery, and extensive glazing.

The project had its challenges due to being constructed concurrently with live runway operations and special restrictions that apply to working in an Airport area. With effective management and buy in from all parties involved, the project was a marked success with minimized impact to the client and public.
