Prepared Foods New Factory

The new factory and plant for Prepared Food Ltd was built on a greenfield site on Makomako Road in Palmerston North and was awarded to Colspec Construction Ltd after a successful tender process. Construction started in October 2012 on the new 3000m2 factory and processing plant with critical dates required to be met for the upcoming abalone season.

The complexity of the build was managed successfully to accommodate specialist equipment with specific move dates and numerous concrete pours for different levels and areas of the processing plant. The facility was completed to exacting standards to meet international HCCAP food preparation codes and is USFDA, EU, and NZFSA certified. Also built as part of the tender were the 600m2 offices and amenities that attach to the front of the building.

All timeframes were met on the project and we enjoyed the build process working alongside Prepared Foods. A big thank you goes out to all of the contractors and staff that made this build the success that it is.
