Linton Army Camp - Combat School

The Combat School at Linton Army Camp comprises nine stand-alone classrooms, a main administration block and a central paved and covered walkway. The entire structure was designed and built to be completely re-locatable if it is required to be moved in the future.

The completed project acts as a campus on Linton Army Base for the students enrolled at the combat school, providing a custom built set of buildings specifically for their needs.

This project was completed as a design and build contract, where Colspec and its employed architect won the design competition. After the win, Colspec worked directly with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) to iron out the design of the build to meet their vision.

The buildings are constructed from timber sub-floor, timber walls, timber trusses, metal roofing, and are clad in a combination of metal profiled cladding and James Hardie Titan Board.

The finished footprint of the building site extends over 5000m2 including the paved and covered hardstand areas
