Colspec Construction Limited has been operating in the Manawatu district for the past 30 years. It has grown from a small sole trader business, building mainly in the rural sector, to its present format, employing 50+ permanent staff both in our office and out in the field, engaging in all areas of building work. Colspec is a multi-faceted company, with specialist teams covering maintenance, residential, and light commercial through to substantial commercial projects.

The company is directed by Shane O'Brien, whom after leaving Massey University, completed his carpentry apprenticeship along with the NZ Building Certificate. After three years as construction manager of a local building company, he set up Colspec Construction Limited and has expanded the company to its present level.

Colspec Construction Limited is a Registered Master Builder (1981) with a paid up capital of $10,000.

Colspec has completed it's "apprenticeship" over the past twenty five years or so and is now able to attract the personnel to its staff to manage and complete any size contract in the region.

Colspec has undertaken a vast range of contracts, including the Arena 4, Arena Manawatu sports hall; Bunnings Warehouse Palmerston North; the Freyberg Community Pool; and work at the Carlton Hotel, which included restaurant, cafe, and bar facilities.
