A curved, accented pathway delivers you to the front mosaic tiled entry and front door complete with porthole. Once you step inside, the open interior has a wonderful blend of warm colours with the continuation of the sea theme throughout.
The home has a U-shaped kitchen with a breakfast bar separating the kitchen from the living and dining areas, both of which open through extensive glazing to take advantage of the views on offer. Careful use of decking provide the indoor/outdoor living essential to this family home.
Three spacious double bedrooms and a study serviced by the bathrooms, one up, one down complete the scene. A rimu stairway with powder-coated steel balustrade link the two floors.
The double garage has internal access.
Landscaping completed by owners has mainly native planting, river rocks, driftwood accents and lighting to inspire.
The home receives all day sun through bi-fold doors and large windows. Quality fixtures and fittings have been used throughout this comfortable family home.
2001 Winner: Commercial Category
Colspec Construction is proud to be acknowledged as the main contractor of the most modern comprehensive aquatic facility in the Manawatu District.
The Freyberg Community Pool Complex consists of an eight-laned, 25 metre heated short course pool, plus two learner pools.
It provides up to the minute aquatic facilities for pupils of Freyberg High School, local primary schools and residents of the greater Manawatu Community.
It was designed by Loughnan Hall & Thompson, (engineers from Hastings), with architectural input from Andrew Scott Cotton.
The building envelope is large and no attempt has been made to disguise the simple lines of this envelope. To draw users to the front entrance, clever use of roof line and glazing has been incorporated by the architect.
Internally, the pools are tiled, making them easily maintained. The internal linings have high impact qualities and the jointing system provides relief from the sheer areas of the walls. Ecophon tiles have been used in the ceiling, making the acoustic qualities of this building of the highest standard.
As a purpose built structure, a very high standard of plant and equipment has been incorporated for water treatment and air conditioning. Particular attention has been paid to noise transference from this equipment. Landscaped grounds set off this impressive construction.
